’Contains the description of 404 specimens of the Elementary Tissues of Vegetables, and of 762 specimens of those of Animals. The plates are the representations of upwards of 400 of the preparations described in the text. In the arrangement of the Vegetable Tissues, the classification adopted is a modification of that followed by Dr. Lindley in the last edition of his ‚Introduction to Botany‘, and in that of the Animal Tissues, the classification is in accordance with the Tabular View, presented by Professors Todd and Bowman in their work entitled ‚Physiological Anatomy.‘
